Black Creative and Culture Art Show

DA SPOT, City Point BKLYN
445 Albee Square W Brooklyn New York 11201 USA

In honor of the US's Black History Month, DA SPOT NYC (DA SPOT) partnered with City Point Mall (Brooklyn, New York) to host the Black Creatives and Culture MKT to highlight the works of local creatives and artists of color.

DA SPOT is a unique fashion boutique featuring 25+ indie creative Black-owned brands including the C.A.N.V.A.S Art Gallery, which offers monthly residencies or Artportunities to local artists. As Brooklyn natives and independent creatives themselves, owners Michelle Cadore, Face and Tyler Jordan understand firsthand how difficult it is for creatives of color to gain visibility for their work and the importance of building community.

Through the Black Creatives and Culture MKT, the trio expanded upon their mission of their City Point-based boutique by creating more space and opportunities for local artists to shine and connect. For the art show, a City Point storefront was converted into a vibrant pop up art gallery, which featured seven very talented local artists and included a live painting session led by artist “AfroCentric Keyy”. The event was filled with inspiration and empowerment for all who experienced. DA SPOT plans to continue creating space and lead events that amplify the amazing talent of the creative community.
